Testing underway in Barcelona
Ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona which starts a week Friday, testing at Circuit de Catalunya got underway this morning at the circuit with all but the financially strapped Super Aguri Honda team present.
After the first three fly-away Grand Prix, all will take the opportunity to test aero and mechanical updates for use in the fourth round of the championship and beyond.
Michael Schumacher will reportedly be on track in a modified F2008 that is aimed to replicate regulations for the 2009 season and allow the Italian champions to collect data.
Schumacher aside, Honda are running test driver and former Williams racer Alex Wurz, Force India giving Tonio Liuzzi some mileage while Toro Rosso is scheduled to run the new STR3 chassis for the first time in a group test.
Full details of the first day of running will follow later on today.
