Routine running for Lewis Hamilton

McLaren Mercedes had little to say following the third day of testing in Barcelona. Lewis Hamilton was back track again for team again today, putting in 102 laps in the MP4-23 and recording the seventh fastest time of the ten runners present. The Brit recorded a best time of 1:20.591s, just over two seconds off Fernando Alonso`s best with the slick-shod Renault.

“The focus of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes test team remained on the proving process of the pre-Spain upgrade package,” the team announced.

“Aerodynamic work ran alongside set-up programmes for the race next week.

“

While McLaren has hardly set the world alight with its pace in testing so far this week in Spain, the test team hand over to Heikki Kovalainen for the final day of running tomorrow.
